Carolina Crown Sets Snare Line For 2017
The Carolina Crown has selected the nine snare drummers for the upcoming 2017 DCI season.
Another Drum Corps International perennial contender has finalized it's snare line over the weekend. Carolina Crown, the 2013 world champions, have made their final selections for nine snare spots this season.
The 2017 Crown Snare Line:

Nick Guiot (Crossmen 2016)
Cameron Halls (Music City 2016)
Sean Rees (Academy 2016)
Phil Andrews (Carolina Crown 2016)
Alessandro Sestito (Carolina Crown 2016)
Cody Gross (Carolina Crown 2016)
Kyle Albright (Carolina Crown 2016)
Dakota Groves (Spirit of Atlanta 2016)
Samuel Fleming
Crown's new-look snare line will be one of the main stories to watch leading into the 2017 season. There was a lot of staff changes within Carolina Crown's percussion team from 2016. Tom Aungst accepted the percussion supervisor position at Cadets. Also, Zach Schlicher has moved on to the Boston Crusaders.
However, Thom Hannum, Jim Ancona, and Travis Peterman are all returning to Crown to continue to build off their recent successes. If anything has proven true over the past couple of years, the Crown percussion program has seen a steady improvement. Take a peak at some early-season beats from these guys.
Look for this group of snares to write its own story and push Carolina Crown back to the mountaintop this summer. The 2017 DCI summer tour gets kicked off on June 22 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis at the DCI Tour Premiere presented by DeMoulin Bros. and Co.
